I have really been going through an emotionally challenging time lately, but things are looking up. As I have decided to do some Spring cleaning in my soul, new ways of thinking and being have been brought to my attention. I am so grateful for those who have shared the following with me so I thought I'd tell you about it too.
1) "The Secret" on DVD was awesome. I'm sure by now some of you have heard about this movie since Oprah had the creators on her show. It is about the law of attraction- what you spend your energy on will materialize. I feel that I have always known this but the film acted as a positive motivator and pep talk for me at a time when I REALLY needed it. Check it out when you get a chance. You can pay 5 bucks and watch it online. It is $5 well spent.
2) Processing. Joel's sisters do a type of emotional release therapy that is called processing. The way I understand it is they muscle test you to see what your most important issue is and who is involved. (i do this over the phone- crazy stuff). They are able to say which of the 13 emotional points may be out and at what age this belief or hurt occurred. Then by allowing your heart to feel what was occurring at that time you can talk about it and get rid of it. Of course there are many other complexities to this, but it's cool. I have to admit it is very hard for me to ask for help and talk to others about my issues. (yeah, like this blog) I have learned that there is no shame in this- we all have stuff we carry around that we don't need to anymore. Because I am so confident in my own ability to solve my own problems (and hence don't need to talk to others about them) the way I reconcile this with my brain is that I am allowing my heart to catch up with my brain. I am allowing my heart to feel what it has been storing (for years) and then letting it mature by letting go. Thank you Kerri for your patience with me during this as I am learning to humble myself and go through the process.
3) The Peace Giver by James L Ferrell was a great book that helped to make the atonement of Jesus Christ more meaningful to me in my daily life. The character in the book learns how to apply scripture stories to his life in a way I would have never imagined on my own. It's a must read!
Let me know if any of you have read or watched the aforementioned material. Have a good one,
Tricia
