Arm hurts!
So every other Tuesday morning I have a young women's presidency meeting at my house. Jenny brings Ally (who is 3) and Aj and Ally play while we talk. they enjoy playing together but Aj is always how do I say it.. not nice, too agressive, mean, plays too rough... with Ally. He pulls her shirt, he growls at her (he likes to pretend he's a lion), he kicks her, hits her, use to bite her- all sorts of lovely behaviors that he saves just for Ally. Well this past week they were holding eachother's hands and running in circles and swinging until they fall down- just like they do everyweek. All of a sudden Aj starts crying and saying "let go" and she's still pulling him around he started to cry (the in pain one) and I run over, pick him up and he is saying "owie hurts" over and over. Then he holds his arm like its in a sling and doesn't use it for awhile. My ever so smart 1st counselor tells me how her little boy had his should or elbow pulled 5 times when he was a little boy and to watch him for the next 10 minutes and if he doesn't use it to call the doctor. So everyone leaves and I talked to Austin and all he will say is arm hurts and he didn't use it all. I tried offering him candy, a movie, etc and he still wouldn't use it(it was so sad) So his doctor said to come in at 2:20 (in about 90 minutes) Aj just wanted me to hold him so i did and we watched the lion king (yeah, I wonder why he growls all the time) We went to the doctor and 2 hours later the doc saw him and asked what was wrong. Aj said "arm hurts" the doctor "where does it hurt?" Aj- "my arm (like aren't you listening)" So the doc of course takes his arm starting at the wrist and tries to move it. Poor Aj just starts crying and saying owies. the doctor said he thinks he pulled the elbow joint out and he can fix it. He took Aj's arm and turned and pushed and it popped right back in. Aj jasn't moved his fingers or arm in over 4 hours and all of a sudden he reaches out for some fruit snacks. The doc has go tajke an xray to be sure nothing else is wrong. Aj was literally doing push ups in the waiting room. He took is "arm pictures" and then got a sticker. We had to wait another 30 min to see the doc again for him to tell me that everything was fine and finally 3 hours, a sticker and a sucker later we were good to go. It's amazing how strong these little guys are but it was a good reminder to me of their fragility. Sorry I don't have any pictures (Trenda :) of the experience except one on my camera phone and I don't know how to upload it.

Oh wow! That is so crazy! We just got a piece of paper out of Rebecca's nose that she stuck up there during primary. What the heck? I'm glad AJ is okay...and he is super cute...what a great little helper!:)
Ohhh, not fun! I'm surprised that's never happened to Cade . . . knock on wood. Oh, and I don't expect pictures in emeregency situations such as this. You are doing just fine! LOL!
SOOO SAD! They say that toddlers get "nurses elbow" alot! Unfortunatly in our house we like to break arms.... not dislocate! Sounds like he is a tuff little guy!
This has happened to like ALL of my kids at one time or another. My 4th one has done it several times and even did it to HIMSELF hanging and twisting off of a bunk bed! (It's supposed to be the most common thing they see kids in the ER for between the ages of 18 mos to 3 years - or something like that.) I'm a pro now at popping it back in myself. But, I'll never forget the first time. It is quite stressful. I'm glad you made it and everybody's okay! A few more kids and you'll be popping them back in yourself in the middle of the hallway at church when a "helpful" man tries to pick your toddler up off the floor for you.
I forgot to add that I've had it happen twice at church.
