Trip to Kentucky

AJ getting ready to play in the snow in Kentucky. The sad thing is he never got to use them- not because there wasn't any snow but because the timing was off. One morning we were sitting there eating breakfast and watched the flurries through the window. I planned to finish breakfast and then take him out, but it stopped.

For Christmas this year, Santa brought Joel something a little different... a trip to Kentucky to bless his baby with his family there. So the time had arrived and we loaded up the Durango and headed to the bay area. We spent the night at my brother Brent's house. It was fun to visit with them and get my hair done by Jessica (thanks, you're the best!). It was cool to see Brent talk about everything he's learning at Chiropractic school. He's going to be awesome because he loves what he's learning. AND they shared their exciting news that they are expecting their first baby in October!!!

The next morning we got up early for our flight. The boys did really well. I was very concerned about Shane because he has been SO sick- trouble breathing, coughing, stuffy nose and ear infections (The doctor gave us the Ok to travel). Shane slept the whole way and AJ was excited to be on a "big jet" which he latter said we weren't on big jet we were on "rocket" (little einsteins). That night we hung out with Joel's mom and tried to recoup from the trip. AJ loved all of Grandma Betty's toys.

On Thursday Tracy had us over for a special red Valentine's dinner. It was so cute, all the food served had red on it and she had cute gifts for everyone. She really went all out. Thanks Tracy!! Friday Joel's siblings flew in and Tracy and I went to the Gap Last chance place. It was fun but we dream of the day we can go with no screaming kids. (what would that be like?) I found some great deals and always look forward to our drive and conversations. Sunday we blessed Shane at Betty's home and went to see Grandma Hallie. She just relocated to a retirement home so we had to go check it out.

Monday we enjoyed hanging out. Joel went to his friend's house and Tuesday morning we flew back. It was a great trip. Like always, it went by too fast and we would have loved to spend more time there.

What a beautiful picture of you and Shane!

Glad Joel was able to see his family. I know Aaron struggles with being so far from his so it's nice when you can all get together.

You all look great. We blessed Sydney at home with just a family gathering and we really enjoyed it. I am glad that everyone is feeling better and you were able to make the trip. These kids and being sick. Macey had RSV most of Jan. not fun. Come to Utah and AJ can use his gloves all he wants!! :)
